On the 7, August 2023, the Western Australia Minister for Health, the Hon, Amber-Jane Sanderson hosted a WA Health Workforce Summit to facilitate input to a 10-year workforce strategy aimed at growing the WA health workforce, amid global workforce challenges. The focus of the Summit was on attracting doctors and nurses into WA's health system.
Contemporary health systems need capacity across all these areas, with practitioners in every profession working collaboratively, and for systems to connect better around the care a person needs. This approach enables the best possible care to be available for people in Western Australia and elsewhere when and where they need it. These issues are being explored at the 15th National Allied Health Conference, coincidentally being held in Perth this week, 7-9 August.
