Paediatric Speech Pathologist Level 3 -Tamworth Community Health Service

Salary: $102,500 - $105,932 Pro Rata + Superannuation

The speech pathology role provides assessment and therapy within the community settings for communication, and paediatric swallowing and feeding concerns. This unique and diverse role also in-reaches to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital children’s ward, special care nursey and maternity ward to provide paediatric swallowing and feeding assessments. This position will focus primarily on paediatric swallowing and feeding assessment and management. Provision of service in community is flexible and can involve offsite clinics, preschool visits and homevisting. You will work in a small speech team with two senior speech pathologists and a level 1/2 speech pathologist; and in partnership with professionals inclusive but not exclusive to Dietitians, Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, Paediatricians, midwifes, child and family and paediatric nurses, and Aboriginal Health Workers.  

The successful applicant will have access to clinical supervision with an experienced paediatric speech pathologist monthly. They will also be supported to engage in shadowing opportunities at John Hunter Children’s Hospital if desired. Clinical leadership and support will be obtained from the HNELHD Northern Profession Lead for Speech pathology. The position will be operationally managed by the Child and Family Allied Health Team Manager.  

Where you'll be working
The Level 3 Paediatric Speech Pathology position sits within the Child and Family Allied Health Team , Tamworth Community Health Service. The Child and Family Allied Health team is a large multidisciplinary team providing clinical services to children aged 0-17 years of age to Tamworth and surrounding areas. 

About You
You will be an experienced Speech Pathologist who is competent with paediatric feeding and swallowing assessments for children aged 0-17yeas of age. You will be passionate about child development, work with a holistic framework to client care, and have strong communication and problem solving skills with an ability to work independently.
