Occupational Therapist – Allied Health Rural Reliever Program HNELHD

Location: Negotiable across Hunter New England Local Health Area
Salary: $102,500 - $105,932 per annum
Closing Date: 24 May 2022

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Hunter New England’s Local health District (HNELHD) Allied Health Rural Reliever Program. As the Occupational Therapist rural reliever, you will provide leave relief to sites across HNELHD to ensure continuity of occupational therapy service delivery for our rural communities.

The Allied Health Rural Reliever Program provides cover for Allied Health Services during periods of staff absence in rural and regional sites across HNE Health; especially sites with sole clinicians, to ensure that people living in rural communities receive continuity of high quality allied health services. Clinicians spend 3 weeks each month on the road providing cover at various hospitals and community centres and return to their base site in a nominated rural town every month.

You will be ready to further develop your occupational therapy clinical skills and be passionate about rural health. You have the ability to work well within a team environment, be flexible, adaptable and have a desire to work in the rural areas of HNELHD.

This is a Occupational Therapist Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.
