Physiotherapist - Corryong Health

Corryong Health is a multipurpose service including a General Practice, Allied Health and Community Services, Acute Hospital services and Residential Aged Care. As part of a small team of physiotherapists, this position provides an opportunity to challenge yourself and grow your skills, working in a supportive and professional environment. 

 Primary Roles and Responsibilities

Provide physiotherapy services in the following areas:

• Acute care inpatient services working in a multidisciplinary team toprovide patient centered care and support discharge planning
• Outpatients provide assessments, plan and implement evidence- basedtreatments for patients referred or self-referred to physiotherapy usinga patient centered approach Residential Aged care providing assessments and interventions andworking with care staff to optimize residents’ physical functioning
• Provide Fall risk assessments to individuals in acute and residentialaged care and for the community and design and support individual orgroup interventions to improve balance, coordination, strength andmobility to reduce falls risk and maximize physical function. Assess and treat patients with acute and chronic health conditionsincluding but not limited to musculoskeletal conditions and injuries,neurological, cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders
• To completely and effectively use a range of physical and electricalmodalities in patient interventions
• To assessing and evaluating programs and treatments using relevantoutcome measures and patient goals To participate in the Continuum of Care program with other healthprofessionals in the provision of coordinated care to complex clients
• To work with patients and their families to implement effective homeprograms.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation to record assessment findings,patient responses to treatment and progress in accordance with relevantlegislative requirements developing and implementing screening and preventative healthpromotion programs

Selection criteria:

Essential

1. To be considered for this position you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, or have arelevant visa allowing you to live and work in Australia with no restrictions. Corryong Health does notundertake visa sponsorship for this role.
2.  Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and registered as a Physiotherapist with the Australian HealthPractitioner Regulation Authority.
3. Demonstrated effective and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and be able towork within an interdisciplinary team.
4. Demonstrated understanding and ability to provide client focused and evidence -based care in a range ofclinical settings including inpatient and outpatients, residential aged care and the community.
5. Ability to provide direction and supervision to support staff.
6. Possess competent computer skills and the ability to provide relevant reports and statistics.
7. Current drivers’ license, Police Check, Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Desirable

1. Two years post graduate experience in a rural setting with an understanding of rural health issues.
2. Understanding of the National Health priorities.
3. Understanding of NDIS and be able to demonstrate how to work effectively within the NDISframework.
4. GLA:D accredited Physiotherapist
