How do I start my on-line application? |
| | Follow the links on the SARRAH website to the Postgraduate on-line application. Create a new account and start the Application. When an application is started an automated do not reply email with the applicants username, password and application code is sent to the email entered when a new application is created. Because it is an automated email it may end up in the spam or junk mail box. Do not delete this email as you will need the username password and application code to log back into an unfinished application.

I can't get back into my unfinished application |
| | There are several reasons why you may be having trouble logging back into your application.
- When an application is started an automated “do not reply” email is sent to the email address used when an account is created. This email contains the user name, password and application code. These must be entered exactly as they appear in the email if you wish to log back into your application. If the user enters these details incorrectly they will not be able to log back into their application. Because the email is automated it may end up in the junk or spam mailbox.
- There are three other scholarships open on the SARRAH Web page check you are logging into the Postgraduate Scholarship.
- Login details from previous years applications are no longer valid.

I can't submit my application |
| | The Section Menu Bar on the left hand side of the application turns green once all the questions in the section are completed. If the Section Menu Bar is red it means there is an incomplete or incorrectly answered question in the section. The incomplete question will have a red border around the field box.
Go back to the sections highlighted in RED and check your answers
Print a copy of your application
Click the Finalise and submit button
The screen will “grey out” you must click the OK button.

What is a clinical service? |
| | For the purpose of the NAHSSS, clinical services involve direct client contact providing direct treatment, intervention or assistance, assessment, client management and education across the health care system. |

What activities are covered? |
| |
Only courses offered by recognised Australian tertiary institutions (universities) are eligible. The course must not be entry level or qualifying into an allied health profession. Apply under the NAHSSS Undergraduate (Entry) level even if your course is at the Masters level.

What can I spend the scholarship on? |
| | The scholarship is a contribution towards the costs of undertaking continuing professional development. The scholarship can be used to pay course fees, travel and accommodation to attend on campus sessions, books, internet connection and other resources. It is at the scholar’s discretion how scholarship funds are disbursed. Continuing confirmation of enrolment is required before scholarship funds are disbursed. |

How long is the application period? |

Applications are open for between 10 to 12 weeks usually opening in August and closing in October. During the application period it is possible to log back into the application to resume or edit your answers. To do this, keep a record of your username password and User Application Code.

When will I know the outcome of my application? |
| | Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email in early December. |

Nurses and Midwives are not eligible for the Allied Health Stream of the NAHSSS. The Royal College of Nursing Australia administers the nursing streams of the NAHSSS. |

Are entry level/ qualifying programs eligible? |
| | No.
Postgraduate courses that lead to a qualification as an Allied Health Professional are Entry Level courses. Entry level courses are not eligible under the NAHSSS Postgraduate Scholarship. Go to the NAHSSS Undergraduate (Entry Level) Scholarship. This applies if the entry level qualification for the discipline is at the Masters level, for example Audiology; or if the applicant is looking to gain an additional qualification in a different allied health discipline for example an exercise physiology seeking to complete a Master of Physiotherapy (entry level). |

Do I need confirmation of enrolment to submit an application? |
| | No, comfirmation of enrolment is not required only the intention to enrol in an eligible course. |

Can I nominate Health Promotion if my profession is not on the eligble list? |
| | Not unless you have a recognised tertiary qualification in Health Promotion. |

| | If you are studying at the undergraduate or entry level you are not eligible for the NAHSSS Postgraduate Program. This scholarship is specifically for qualified Allied Health Professionals who deliver a clinical service. |

Can the proposed course be in a different discipline? |
| |
Yes. The NAHSSS Postgraduate Scholarship is for practicing Allied Health Professionals to undertake further study. The multidisciplinary nature of health service delivery means that there is often cross over between disciplines. For example Social Workers, Occupation Therapists and even Speech Pathologists undertake postgraduate Profession Development in a mental health area. As long as the proposed activity does not lead to a qualification and the applicant can show that the activity will address the health needs in their local community or enhance the applicant clinical skills. |

Is a letter of offer the same as confirmation of enrolment |
| | No. A letter of offer from a university is just that, before the scholarship payments can be made actual proof of enrolment in the funded activity is required. |

No. You must be a practicing Allied Health Professional at the time you apply for either the NAHSSS Postgraduate or CPD Scholarship. |

How do I apply for one of the new Tasmanian Scholarships? |
| |
The eligibility criteria and application process for the Tasmanian Postgraduate Scholarship is the same as for the current NAHSSS Allied Health Postgraduate Scholarship, however these new scholarships can only be awarded to practicing Tasmanian Allied Health Professionals.

Do I have to be a member of SARRAH to apply? |
| | No. The Scholarship is open to all eligible Allied Health Professions who deliver a clinical service within Australia. SARRAH membership is not part of the assessment process. |

I have received a scholarship in the past am I eligible? |
| | If the scholarship was administered by SARRAH or funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing you must wait 12 months from the time the scholarship was completed before you are eligible to reapply. A scholarship is complete after the last payment is made. All previous scholarships administered by SARRAH are now consolidated under the Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship Support Scheme (NAHSSS). |
