Public Health Care Organisations
The Hunter New England Local Health District provides a range of public health services to the Hunter, New England and Lower Mid North Coast regions. It serves over 900,000 people including over 50,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and employs over 16,000 staff. The goal of HNE Health is keeping people healthy and in the community, providing world-class clinical services with timely access and effective infrastructure.
The Northern NSW LHD places local decision-making at the forefront of the organisation. It serves the north eastern tip of NSW and is focused on improving local patient outcomes. NNSW LHD encompases regions including Ballina, Casino, Grafton, Iluka, Nimbin and Yamba among others.
Southern NSW LHD extends from the NSW South Coast and Southern Tablelands, across the Great Dividing Range and the Snowy Mountains and mostly surrounds the Australian Capital Territory. It serves over 200,000 people including nearly 7,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. SNSWLHD provide a range of services including emergency, intensive care, coronary care, maternity, acute medical and surgical services along with primary and community services.
Primary Health Networks
Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PHN is an independent not for profit organisation funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health to improve the health outcomes of the region. The PHN coordinates primary and preventive healthcare – that is, the healthcare that takes place outside of a hospital, such as GPs, allied health, chronic disease management, aged care, mental health and Indigenous health.
NT PHN is a partnership between Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT), the NT Government Department of Health and Health Providers Alliance NT (HPANT) formerly known as the Associate Membership Committee (AMC). NTPHNs vision is that people in the Northern Territory enjoy their best health and wellbeing, which will be achieved through our purpose of building local partnerships and directing resources towards an integrated, high quality primary health care system.
Western Queensland PHN was formed as an independent not for profit company by the three Western Queensland Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) to create an entity to foster real partnerships with all funders and providers with an aim to improve primary healthcare service delivery to the people of Western Queensland.
